Melissa Larish is the owner and principle instructor at Ballet Arts of CNY. Melissa has been teaching ballet in the local area for over ten years and is excited to bring her mix of local, collegiate, and professional training to train the next generation of ballet dancers.
After dancing locally, she attended Butler University where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. After college, Melissa danced professionally with the former Channel Islands Ballet that was located in Camarillo, California before returning to central New York with her husband to raise their family.
Melissa is also the Artistic Director for the Mohawk Valley Ballet headquartered in Utica, NY. In addition, she will soon be completing her studies in becoming a registered instructor for The Royal Academy of Dance.
Ballet Arts of Central New York believes that dance as a performance and as a participatory art form, elevates, stimulates, and enhances our life experience.
As such we strive to:
Teach the art of classical ballet and complementary styles of dance.
Promote good stewardship of the body as our instrument.
Provide an environment that fosters artistry, creativity, and joy in movement.
